The Beginning

The Beginning

The name is Tadhg and I plan to write about the popular topic of videogames. Now many of you reading this will want to log off because this might not be your cup of tea but I haven't even started yet so bear with me. I plan to discuss how videogames have evolved over time and how many popular sports haver been integrated into the popular gaming industry.

One of my favourite sports is football but unlike another of my preferred sports, rugby, it has been better received by the gaming industry/community as it has a larger target audience. However I have played both of these games on a gaming console (rugby 08/11 and fifa 09-17) and I believe that they were of the exact same standard for the years when they have come out together but many of the recent rugby videogames have received very little attention/praise as they are to be honest, rubbish.

There is an obvious reason behind this but this only one of the things that interest me about the gaming community so for the rest of this topic I will be writing about the geographical aspect of gaming and videogames, where do they originate, where are they most played, what different types of videogames are popular in different places, etc, etc...

Starting with.....

Where do they originate?
The inventor of videogames is called Ralph Baer, the 'father of videogames'. Ralph Baer was an American inventor born in Germany on March 8th 1922, he moved to America before the second World War and he also later joined in the war effort for America. When he first came up with the idea of 'games that you could play on your television' it was rejected by his boss. However it later came back to him giving him the inspiration to make eight prototypes, the last two would later become the first game console ever 'the Magnavox Odyssey'. Causing the trend of videogames to be born.
